Nationally recognized for its premier collection, the Fire Museum of Maryland exhibits 40 antique fire engines, dating from 1806, a reconstructed 1871 Firehouse and the working 1922 Telegraphic Alarm System. Founded in 1971, its collection includes fire department ephemera and decorative arts, with an Archive of urban firefighting histories, photographs and paintings spanning the history of Maryland.

Cited as one of the Top 5 children’s museums in Maryland, it offers school tours, birthday parties and a Discovery Room where children dress up in fire gear and climb on Pumping Engine from 1938. The Fire Museum is located at 1301 York Road, Beltway Exit 26B, in Lutherville, free parking.
