From 18th and 19th century living history to outdoor concerts of traditional music, historic Jerusalem Mill Village offers a fascinating look at the past in fun ways.
Visit Jerusalem Mill Village during the weekends to get a sense of daily life from the 1770s, when David Lee and Isaiah Linton opened the gristmill, through the 1930s, when Samuel O. McCourtney ran a thriving General Store on the opposite side of Jerusalem Road.
The McCourtney building, Blacksmith Shop, and Visitor Center are open on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m.
On Sunday afternoons, interpreters in the buildings behind the gristmill demonstrate woodworking, hearth and open fire cooking, gardening, sewing, and other activities essential to daily life in times past.
Along with the weekend living history program, we host an outdoor summer concert series from June through August, a re-creation in June of a Civil War engagement known as Gilmor’s Raid, an 18th century encampment and market fair in October, and a Christmas in the Village event for members.
